Evidence-minded guide

Pine Bark Extract and Joint Health

Pine bark extracts have been studied in osteoarthritis, but the certainty of evidence is low and findings do not prove that any product containing pine bark will improve joint symptoms.

What has been studied

A Cochrane review included three osteoarthritis studies among 27 randomized trials of pine bark extract across chronic conditions.

How strong is the evidence?

The review concluded that small samples, few trials per condition and reporting limitations meant no definitive conclusions about efficacy or safety were possible.

What this means for JointVive

JointVive lists pine bark extract, but without a product-specific trial you should not treat the pine-bark literature as proof of the finished formula.
